The servo library uses one of the timers to trigger interrupts which it then uses to support upto 12 servos in software instead of just 2 (assumption on my part here) that a single hardware timer without additional software could support. Never had a problem with the GoPro Hero 2 taking pictures all day it just was a hassle on day 2 when the counter went over the 9999 count and created a new folder starting at 001. Since those pictures were taken after the start of the days numbering system I had to use Adobe Bridge to batch renumber each folder to put in sequence.
